5 Decades of Made in Italy excellence
In 1974, Maria Gabriella Crotti brought her dream to life by founding Orditura Crotti, her textile craftsmanship company. She established it in Prey, a town in the province of Biella, just a few kilometers from where she was born and spent years breathing in the atmosphere of the renowned Biella textile district, famous worldwide for producing exquisite woolen goods.
Her company experienced exponential growth in the 1990s with the involvement of her children, Maricla and Nico Marrapodi. Evolving from a small artisanal endeavor, common in the Biella region, it ventured into the luxury market, thanks to the extraordinary quality of its products and technological investments in machinery capable of handling fabrics of rare fineness. In the years that followed, millions of premium woolens emerged from their facilities, destined for the world's top fashion brands and the finest tailors across the five continents.
In 2023, after years of being luxury ghostwriters, the Crotti siblings decided to share their rare weaving expertise directly with end consumers. Thus, Maria Gabriella Crotti was born, a fashion brand bearing the name of the person who gave birth to them and their company.

The Nefele project is born, introducing a new sustainable and animal-friendly shahtoosh wool.
2023
Nefele comes to life and is launched. The fashion brand Maria Gabriella Crotti is born.
1974
Maria Gabriella Crotti founds Orditura Crotti, a textile craftsmanship company in Pray (BI).
1996
Her children, Nico and Maricla Marrapodi, join the company.
