To protect the chiru, the Tibetan antelope from which shahtoosh was obtained at the cost of the animal’s life, Nefele sources its wool from the undercoat of another camelid, this time from the Andes, the vicuña. The vicuña’s wool is collected without causing any harm, while maintaining in the yarn an unparalleled softness and lightness.
